Sarah Stell

Sarah Dean Stell, 87, Glasgow, died Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her granddaughter’s residence in Hudson, KY. Born March 13, 1933 in Cullman, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Odes and Myrtie Echols. She was a retired LPN having worked at T J Samson Community Hospital and NHC Healthcare for more than 50 years. She was a lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene; a lover of flowers and gardening; and one who always put her family first. She was the glue that held the family together.
Survivors include three daughters: Janet Kaye Shutters (Tom), Janan Absher, and Christina J. Stell; five grandchildren: Deanna Newell (Perri), Melissa Fitterer (Daniel), David Absher II (Cassie), James Absher, and Dannette Flaherty; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Connie Sanderson and Maudine Stevens; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Ray Stell; her son James Larry Stell; and four siblings: Curtis Echols (Dean), Leeviece Cagle (Boots), Wanda Harbison (Walt), and Tommy Cordis Echols.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to ALS Research or to the Humane Society.
In keeping with the Governor’s mandates for funeral and memorial services, the number of attendees in the funeral home at any given time will be limited; no food permitted in the lounge; social distancing will be necessary; and face coverings are required.

I remember Mrs. Stell well from working at TJ Hospital. Sweet person. All of you are in our prayers.
