Charles K. Watkins
July 12, 1931 ~ October 8, 2021
Charles K. Watkins, 90, Horse Cave, died Friday, October 8, 2021 at his residence. The Barren County native was the son of the late James Frederick Watkins and Blanche Steele Watkins. He was a retired inspector with the U S Department of Agriculture as well as a farmer. He was also a U S Army veteran and a member of the Hiseville Christian Church.
Survivors include two grandchildren: Celia Wise, and Vaughn Wise and his life partner Sarah Coomer; five great-grandchildren: Austin Presley Garmon, Colton Lee London, Khy Devon London, Delaware Rose London, and Lillian Marie London; his son-in-law, Glen G. Wise; one nephew, Jamie Watkins and his wife Melissa; two nieces: Jeannie Wheeler and Debbie Pace.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Kay Wise; his brother James Watkins; and one niece, Sandy Landrum.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday and continue Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
So sorry to hear of Charlie passing. I worked with him at the Glasgow Foods, He was a true friend. And had got to see him at NHC nursing home and he hadn’t changed a bit. Prayers for his family RIP my dear friend
Charlie was a great man ,He was a big part of my life from age 15. We had lots of fun shared many holidays with our family. Charlie was with us many many years. Our children always thought he was there grandpa. The first time I drove a diesel car was his black Rabbit car we was going to Glasgow and it started smoking real bad I didn’t know why at the time it was the diesel burning off the plugs LOL. the first time I ever bush hog was with his old tractor a David Brown .Charlie was a big part of our life growing up. .Prayers for you all.
