Betty Depp Smith
Betty Jean Depp Smith, 93, Dry Fork, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Bagby Depp and Billie Newby Depp. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library. She was a member of the Dry Fork Church of Christ and the Austin-Tracy Lions Club. She loved visiting with others and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Walter Reed Smith and his wife Beverly of Dry Fork; two grandchildren: Trevor Smith and Bethany Smith (Joel Dooley); one great granddaughter Caroline Smith; one sister-in-law Virginia Simmons of Glasgow; and her sitter and caregiver, Sonya Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Reed Smith.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
My sad heart is filled with happy memories of our cousin Betty Jane. She was kind, understanding, and devoted to family and friends. Walter Reed, we pray for you and your family to know God’s comfort in this time.

Betty was such a sweet lady. Many years ago, my first husband and I bought their farm at Dry Fork. I loved talking to Betty. So very sorry for your loss.
