James Richard Williams, 72, Glasgow, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Hospice Center of Bowling Green.  A son of the late Bessie Eunice Flowers and Stanley Eugene Williams, he was a former employee of Sorensen’s.  He was the first bus driver for the City of Glasgow and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Geraldine K. Williams; three children, Karen Pennington and husband, Darrell, of Center; Teresa Honeycutt of Glasgow; and Leslie Wilson and wife, Prytha, of Eighty-Eight; three grandchildren, Lesley Oliver, Brent A. Wilson and Ashley Pickerel; one great-grandchild, Alexander James Oliver; 7 sisters, Marie Scott, Bonnie Daniels, Weltha King, Brookie Stalcup and Jennave Fletcher all of Burkesville, Brenda Wray of Bowling Green, and Bob Bainbridge of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes Chism Williams and one brother, Eugene Williams.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
