Mike Phillips
Michael L. “Mike” Phillips, 65, Hiseville, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Clyde Preston Phillips and Helen Craig Phillips. Mike was a graduate of the 1975 Barren County High School class and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church. Mike continued the tradition of his parents and brother, Jim, and was the owner of Phillips IGA from 1999 until the present. He loved his family, customers and community big. He was a good businessman and had the ability to make everyone smile, laugh, and feel loved. If you knew Mike, you knew he was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan and loved to listen to Elvis music every chance he had. Mike had a personal relationship with the Lord and is now healthy again in the presence of his maker.
Survivors include five children: Tiffani Phillips Bennett (Aaron), Kristin Phillips Childress (B.J.), Dusty Phillips; Trevor Phillips (Miranda), and River Phillips; seven grandchildren: Max Bennett, Luke Phillips, Jayci Childress, Bronson Phillips, Ian Childress, Evie Bennett, and Nash Phillips; two brothers: Bill Phillips and Jim Phillips; a special friend, Lisa Brandon, all of Hiseville; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue all day Friday and Saturday morning until the time of the service at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy are requested to be in the form of donations to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

I just wanted all of you to know that I was so very sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. Your whole family has been in my prayers.
