Bill Moran
Leslie William (Bill) Moran, age 83, of Franklin, TN passed away August 6, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sherry Stone Moran in addition to his three daughters and their spouses: Shannon Miller (John Miller), Margaret Patin (Larry Patin) and Ann Moran (Lynette Wright), and four grandchildren: Clara Miller, Justin Patin (Sarah Patin) and Sydney Patin. He is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Margaret Moran and by his brothers Bob Moran and Charles Moran..
Bill grew up in Glasgow, KY. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and made a huge impact during his long business career and service to the community. He would do anything for his friends and loved fiercely. He made everyone who knew him laugh and actually believe all the stories he told.
The family will have a celebration of life for Bill on August 19, 2023.
Anyone who knew Bill was keenly aware of his appreciation for those who serve, especially our Franklin Police Officers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who loved Bill honor him by making a donation to Franklin’s Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership, a local 501c3 that uses 100% of their proceeds to support the men and women of the Franklin Police Department, including providing financial assistance during the unexpected life events of its officers, purchasing additional needed equipment, and providing college scholarships to officers’ children.
