Baker Smith Landis

          Baker Smith Landis, 77, Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Hospice House in Bowling Green.  A native of Barren County, she was a retired machine operator at Eaton Axle and a farmer.

          Baker was a member of the Church of Christ and was belovedly known as an animal whisperer.  She had a way of connecting with most all kinds of animals, especially her dog.  She loved gardening and had a definitely green thumb when it came to flowers.  She was an avid cook who would take food to any of her neighbors and friends who were ill or grieving.

          Survivors include her husband Jim Landis; two step-sons: Bro. Darrell Landis (Lisa) and Brian Wayne Landis (Lynn) all of Green County; one granddaughter, Lee Ann Wood (Zack); two great-grandchildren: Rhett and Rylee Wood; a brother-in-law, Gary Landis (Donnetta) of Green County; one nephew: Eric Landis (Rachel); two nieces: Danea Rogers (Shawn) and Alicea Bowlyn (Will).

          Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  There will be no prior visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
