Richard Houchens

Richard David Houchens, 76, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence. He was a son of the late Willie Day Houchens and Mattie Vernon Poynter Houchens. He was a logger and a director for Distract 9 Motorcycle Club for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife: Effi Houchens; two sons: Ricky Houchens (Monica) and Chris Houchens (Lori); six grandchildren: Jeremy Houchens (Kayla), Katelyn Houchens, Logan Houchens (Autumn), Brittany Peterson (Eian) Kalob Sturgeon and Keithen Sturgeon (Nataly); two step-grandchildren: Amy Riddle and Megan Kinslow; nine great-grandchildren; one brother: Willie Dale Houchens (Melinda); one sister: Janice Furlong; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter: Stacy Sturgeon; one brother: Romey Houchens; one sister: Kathy Lewis.
Funeral will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday and after 9:00 am Wednesday until time for services.
