Charles Dale Burchett died September 13, 2024 at the age of 88 after a brief illness. Dale was the elder son of Burgess and Birdie Burchett.

Dale was born and reared on a small mountain farm in Gulnare, Kentucky in Pike County.

Dale attended college at the University of Kentucky before serving for two years in the United States Army in Alaska. After military service, he attended the University of Kentucky College of Law.
