Kathleen “Cindy” Jessie Martin, 76, Glasgow, died Wednesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born November 22, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Polly Ballard and Charlie Wheat Jessie, a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Rita Pulliam of West Virginia and Chad Shepard and his wife, Kim, and Henry Spencer all of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Pulliam and J.R. Stone of West Virginia; four sisters, Pauline Morgan and Nora Frenell of Glasgow, Mattie Tatham of Louisville and Nina Pearl Young of Indiana; seven brothers, Pete Jessie (Florence), James Jessie, Lonnie Jessie (Joyce), Raymond Jessie (Jean), and Johnny Jessie (Betty) all of Glasgow, Joe Jessie (Betty) and Leslie Jessie (Barbara) all of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin; her daughter, Carolyn Shepard and a brother, Charles Henry Jessie.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
