James Brent Jones, 83, Glasgow, died Sunday, November 09, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was a son of the late James Ira and Myrtie Crabtree Jones. He was a former resident of Glendale, KY and a retired trooper with the Kentucky State Police. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Burma and China.
He is survived by his six children, Linda Martin and husband, Garnett, Jr. of Glasgow, Terry Bush and husband, Gary, of Frankfort, Shanna Boyer and husband, Mike, of Lacey, WA, Jennifer Jones and husband, Scott Marshall, of Frankfort, Kathy Jones of Louisville and Brent A. Jones of Loveland, OH; six grandchildren, Melinda Simpson, Emily Fint, Sean Martin, Nathan Bush, Amanda Davidson, Sophie Marshall and Isabella Katherine Marshall; one brother, Thomas Jones of Temple Hill; two sisters, Ruby Smith of Bowling Green and Alma Jones of Glasgow; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Bush; one brother, Kenneth Jones; two sisters, Gladys Jones Pace and Roxie Jones Arterburn.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
