Mary Elizabeth Elmore
February 20, 1914 ~ November 6, 2004
Mary Elizabeth Barrick Elmore, 90, Glasgow , died Saturday, November 06, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . Born in BarrenCounty , she was the daughter of the late William Haskel Barrick and Ruby Rose Forbis Barrick and the wife of the late Wilborn “Red” Elmore.
Mrs. Elmore was a 1934 graduate of Glasgow High School and a former bookkeeper and homemaker. She was a faithful and lifelong member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church .
She was a devoted mother and grandmother to three children, Margaret Simmons and her husband, Charles, of Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer Sherrell and her husband, Tim, of Allen County, KY, Michael Elmore and his wife, Carol, of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Susan Simmons, Matthew (Matt) Elmore, Sarah Sims and Ashley Sims.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, R.C. Barrick, and one sister, Bessie Jewell Barrick Jackson, both of Glasgow .
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
