Sammie L. Brown, 81, Cave City, died Friday, May 03, 2013, at NHC Health Care Center. A native of Clinton County, she was a daughter of the late Okla Homa Byrd and Nova Irene Groce Byrd. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her six children: Donnie K. Brown and wife Margaret of Canmer; Jimmy D. Brown and wife Becky of Shady Grove; Jackie M. Brown and wife Robin of Hiseville; Christopher D. Brown and wife Becky of Hiseville; Steven D. Brown and wife Kathy of Atlanta; and Sheila Brown Galloway of Hiseville; friend and Father of her children: Marshall C. Brown; three sisters: Golda Byrd Murhlherr and husband Don of Radcliff; Frankie Byrd Alstatt of Smiths Grove; Joan Byrd Hibbs of Park City; three brothers: Cordell Byrd and wife Laverne of Hiseville; Johnny Byrd of Glasgow; Bobby Byrd and wife Lorie of Glasgow; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; James Odell Byrd, John Floyd Byrd, and Lloyd Byrd; one sister: Betty Byrd Daniels.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
