Sylvia Rose Travis
November 22, 1940 ~ February 12, 2014
Sylvia Rose Travis, 73, Temple Hill, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. A native of Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Sitarski Wierzba. She was a retired office manager for a court reporting agency and a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Sylvia was a wonderful daughter, wife, and mother who put others first and took extremely good care of all her family. She was their best friend and confidante and they will miss her forever.
Survivors include two daughters: Pamela Terese Uribe of La Mirada, CA, and Kimberly Ann Smith of Morristown, TN; four step-sons: William David Travis, Terry Lee Travis, Garry Lynn Travis, and Michael Wayne Travis all of Summer Shade; five brothers and sisters: Frank J. Wierzba and wife Mary Lee of Jonesboro, AR, Richard P. Wierzba and wife Juanita of Grove, OK, Harry E. Wierzba and wife Kathleen of Walcott, Iowa, John R. Wierzba and wife Natalie of Los Angeles, Kathryn A. Reeves and husband Randy of Lima, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy J. Travis.
Funeral mass will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Helen’s Catholic Church with cremation to follow. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 to 12:30 Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Bob Heidelberg – As I stated on their card, I can’t think of two other invuiiddals who are more perfectly suited to spend the rest if their lives together than Sarah and Travis. It looks like God created them for each other and these wedding pictures only serve to solidify that statement. Great job and congratulations to Sarah and Travis!!!
