Ray Cross

Ivan Ray Cross, 71, of Goodnight, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, September 6, 2015. He was a son of the late William Ivan “Red” Cross and Louise Elizabeth Harper Cross. Ray was a bus driver for Hiseville Elementary School and a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 41 years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Dot Cross; two brothers: Leroy Cross (Wanda) of Goodnight and Doug Cross (Gail) of Griderville; two sisters: Elsie Meredith (Dwight) of Sweden and Becky Phelps (Earl) of Griderville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Charles Ray Cross; three brothers: Joe Cross, Dennis Cross and Steve Cross; two sisters: Ruby Winchester and Stacy Guard; his mother and father-in-law: Shorty and Ruby Johnson.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He will be greatly missed. I loved riding his bus every afternoon. I’ll be praying for you and your family

Dot, I am so sorry to hear about Ray. Our family has always thought so much of your family. A day never goes by that I do not think of Charlie. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
