Jerry Dale Wheeler
January 18, 1951 ~ October 8, 2015
Jerry Dale Wheeler, 64, Hiseville, passed away Thursday, October 08, 2015, at Hospice House in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was a son of the late Archie Garvin Wheeler and Mary Frances Mills Wheeler.
He was a retired Army combat veteran who served in Vietnam with the 1st of 52nd 198th Infantry (Americal). After his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver. He was a member of the Hiseville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Jeannie Watkins Phillips Wheeler; one sister: Wanda Morgan; five sons: Jerry (Dody) Wheeler, Jeff (Jalene) Wheeler, Alan Phillips, Bill (Diane) Myers, and Joe Myers. He was also blessed with grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother-in-law, Jamie Watkins; sisters-in-law, Debbie Pace and Sandy Landrum; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, friends, and a loving church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe, Bob (Robert), and Billy (William) Wheeler; and by three sisters: Margaret Hagan, Mary Kettles, and Nellie Lois Rohrbough.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hiseville Christian Church or to Elizabethtown Emmaus, In Memory of Jerry Wheeler—Walk 114.
