Thelma Smith Staples
April 12, 1924 ~ October 28, 2015
Thelma Smith Staples, 91, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Delia Taylor Smith. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Ky. Pants Co. with 33 years of service, and has been a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church since 1933.
Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Staples and wife Betty, and Tommy Staples and wife Rita of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Tommy Staples, Jr. and wife Tina, Kim Forbis and husband Tommy, Lee Ann Tarry and husband Roscoe all of Glasgow, and Mikki Owens and husband Aaron of Albuquerque, NM; eight great-grandchildren: Quentin Staples and wife Faith, Taylor Copas and husband Jacob, Tyler Staples, Lindsey Forbis, Mason Owens, Kalei Staples, Jacob Owens, and Michael Owens; two great-great-grandchildren: Cecilee Copas and Jax Copas; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. William Richard Staples; daughter-in-law: Pamela Fox Staples; two sisters: Madelle Cravens and Regina “Shorty” Gray; six brothers: Herman Smith, Ernest Smith, Lonnie Smith, Carl “Mutt” Smith, L.K. Smith, and Donald Smith.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

So sorry for your alls loss of a woman of God. She will be missed from all of those who loved her. I always admired her and she was very friendly toward me. Brother Richard Staples was a true blessed man to have had her for his wife. Gods gain and her families loss. But you know you will see her again one day. May God Bless you all as you mourn her loss.
