James Richard Basham
August 8, 1939 ~ November 9, 2015
James Richard Basham, 76, Bowling Green, died Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. A native of Louisville, he was the son of the late Wilbur C. Basham and Clarice M. Dallas Basham. He was the former owner of the Economy Fence Co. and a truck driver. He was a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church, and was a United States Marine.
Survivors include his three children: Carl “Dean” Basham of Smiths Grove, Deborah London and husband Jerry of Hiseville, and Patty Spiekhout and husband Jason of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren: Brittany Harlow and husband Jamie, Joshua London, Miranda Basham, Lydia Basham, Alyssa Fiscus, Mikeala Fiscus, and Shawn Spiekhout; three sisters: Betty Cook of Florida, Marie Guthrie and husband Earl of Glasgow, and Darlene Frey of Louisville; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Grace Tallman Basham, and one sister: Christine Sanders.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
