Micajah, Morgan, & Rollin, So sorry to hear the loss of your mother and wife. A sweet lady and teacher I had who after more than 4 decades I always remembered when seeing her out, and she always remembered my name. I can remember when first moving to Hiseville around 1972 in the middle of my second grade year, and was terrified of going to a new school not knowing anyone. I was placed in Mrs. Christie’s class and she was very comforting and calming in helping me adjust and make friends, which in turn likely helped set the tone for me doing so well all the following years of being at Hiseville. I can honestly say I think I had some of the best teachers at Hiseville a student could want or have. I remember Mrs. Christie sometime later in my second grade year taking our class to her house for a class party or something? Not sure if the whole class went or not, but if I remember correctly she and Rollin loaded us all up in different vehicles, “before seat belt laws and limit of passengers”, and took us there and then later took us all home. An outing like that was really something to a kid back then. Even after all these years I would still see Mrs. Christie out, mainly at an auction here and there, which I could tell was something she really enjoyed. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
