W. A. Herald, 62, Glasgow, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at his residence on Finney Road. Born in Edmonson County, he was the son of the late Willie and Mary Herald, a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sue Wheat Herald; one son, William Alan Herald of Frankfort; one sister, Laura Sanders of Brownsville; one brother, James “Sy” Herald of Sweeden, KY; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Otis Herald, Reuben Herald and Amon Herald.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Inc.
