Vangie Maye Palmore, 92, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, August 26, 2002, in Hemphill, Texas. A native of Metcalfe County, she was a homemaker and a retired employee of Kentucky Pants Co. She was the widow of the late Comer Palmore.

Survivors include one son, Jim Palmore and his wife, Jane, of Hemphill; one granddaughter, Sheila Craig and her husband, Larry; two grandsons, David Palmore and his wife, Helen, Mike Palmore and his wife, Loretta; three great-grandchildren, Melissa Perry and her husband, Drew,

D. J. Palmore and Cameron Palmore; two great-great grandchildren, Lauren Perry and Haley Perry; two sisters, Mary Robinson and Margaret Chaplin; two brothers, Frank Gassaway and Charlie Gassaway; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2002, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library.
