            Harold Lynn Arterburn, 81, Glasgow, died Monday, December 8, 2003, in Arlington, Texas .  Born March 4, 1922 , in Monroe County , he was a son of the late Virgil Evans Arterburn and Ora Lee Whitlow Arterburn.  After graduation from Temple Hill High School , he worked in various positions, including J.J. Newberry, Houchens Grocery and Glenn L. Martin Aircraft in Baltimore .  He was an army veteran of WWII, where he served three years in the Military Police, both stateside and also in both foreign theatres in Germany , France , Marshall Island and Okinawa .  He was a retired supervisor at Handmacher Fashions after 35 years of service and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, where he had served in many capacities, including Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Trustees and served on the Pastor-Parish Committee.  

Mr. Arterburn was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a charter member of the Glasgow Auxiliary Police.  He had held many ranks with the auxiliary police, including chief for two years and retired after 23 years service.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Allen Lodge # 24 F. & A.M., Louisville Scottish Rite and Hart and Barren Scottish Rite.  

He was a funeral director, and had been associated with the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home since 1970.  He received his funeral director license in 1994.  

Survivors include two daughters, Marla Lynn Williams and her husband, Larry, of Arlington, TX, and Jolana Wilson Myers and her husband, Bob, of Ringold, GA; four grandchildren, Brant Williams, Hunter Williams, Brandon Burris and Ryan Burris and his wife, Treshaun; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Caleb Burris; one brother, Ferrell Arterburn and his wife, Roxie, of Glasgow; one nephew, Dan Arterburn and his wife, Alice, of Nashville, TN; two nieces, Sue Lewis and Debbie Ritter and her husband, Johnny, of Glasgow.  

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Wilson Pedigo Arterburn and a sister, Nelda Arterburn.  

            Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery.  Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Allen Lodge # 24 F. & A.M. invites the public to join them for Masonic Services at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
