Lucille Whittle Rutledge, 88, Shelia Drive , Glasgow , died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 , at Helmwood Healthcare in Elizabethtown , where she had resided for the past four years. She was the daughter of the late Acy and Kate Ford Whittle. Mrs. Rutledge was an avid traveler and very active in community affairs in Glasgow and Barren County . She was a former secretary to Gov. Louie Nunn; a bookkeeper at Glasgow Automotive Supply; a member of the Glasgow Garden Club; a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church ; and a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the T. J. Samson Community Hospital .
Survivors include three nieces, Linda Whittle Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL, Debbie Whittle Emerson of Elizabethtown, and Sarah Whittle Edmondson of Miamisburg, OH.; two nephews, Orville Whittle of Leitchfield and Donnie Whittle of Smiths Grove; two step-children, Kitty Miller and Rusty Rutledge both of California; twelve great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Hardin Rutledge; two brothers, Marshall Whittle and Harold Whittle; one nephew, Terry Emerson; one great-niece, Robin Pastirko; one great-nephew, Steve Whittle.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
