Virgie Ruth Edwards

Virgie Ruth Kidd Edwards, 88, Knob Lick, died Friday, May 28, 2004 , at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Green County , she was a daughter of the late Thomas Walton (T.W.) and Addie Lee Lindsey Kidd. She was a retired employee of Mallory Capacitor; a former piano teacher at Hiseville and Park City Schools ; a member of the Big Meadow Missionary Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Edmonton Chapter of Eastern Star.
Survivors include three children, Lynn Travis Edwards and his wife, Wanda, of Cave City, Joyce Gordon of Glasgow, Joseph Preston Edwards and his wife, Pat, of Alvaton; 10 grandchildren, Mark Edwards, Tammy Powell, Kerry Edwards, Suzanne Kidd, Vicky Hodge, Cathy Jessie, David Mathis, Shanna Farmer, Kendra Back and Nicholas Edwards; 4 step-grandchildren, Teresa Rogers, Sandy Raymer, Jackie Raymer and Angela Wilkins; 31 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren;; 6 step-great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Harvey Edwards; one daughter, Wanda Lois Edwards; a son-in-law, Lenville “Peanut” Gordon; two sisters, Verna Blevins and Gladys Shirley; six brothers, Eural Kidd, Thurman Kidd, Luther Kidd, Malcolm Kidd, Johnny Kidd and R.B. Kidd; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2004 , at the Big Meadow Baptist Church with burial in the Big Meadow Cemetery . Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
