Bonnie Frances Curd, 85, Glasgow, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Rosewood Health Care Center in Bowling Green. She was a daughter of the late Garner and Pernie Whitney Barlow and the widow of the late Lawrence A. Curd.
Mrs. Curd was the last surviving graduate of the Class of 1937, the last graduating class of the Glasgow Training School, the forerunner of Ralph Bunche School. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky State College and an employee of the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library where she served as librarian with the Glasgow Bookmobile. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was also a member of Senior Missionaries, Gleaners Club, Magic Circle and Senior Choir.
Survivors include two sons, John Curd and wife, Pam, of Louisville, and Robert Curd and wife, Julia, of Glasgow; four sisters-in-law, Louise Duncan of Detroit, Wanda Duncan and Sarah Duvall both of Louisville, and Beatrice Curd of Glasgow; eight grandsons; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence A. “Larry” Curd, II, one daughter, Jeanette Massey, and one brother, Garner Barlow.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005, at First Baptist Church with burial in the Oddfellow Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
