Ruth Gramlin Birge
Ruth Gramlin Birge, 84, Glasgow, died Monday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Lula Starr and Walter L. Gramlin and the widow of the late Ned Birge. She was a homemaker, a member of the YMCA Sassy Club and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Lee Birge and his wife, Pat of Mt. Hermon, Gary David Birge and his wife, Mable of Eighty-Eight, Rondal Birge and his wife, Wanda of Louisville; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Billy Dean Birge and Charles Edward Birge and by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the White Cemetery in Monroe County. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
