Mary L. Roddy, 82, formerly of Glasgow, died Friday, February 24, 2006, in Granite City, Illinois. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late William Tompie and Mary Annie Hammer Young. She was a retired employee of Crown Laundry and Dry Cleaners and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marquita Appleby of Capitan, NM; two granddaughters, Gina Blaylock of Granite City, and Robin Yager of Florissant, MO; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Autumn and Joshua.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane H. Roddy, and her son, Rev. William Hays Roddy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
