Roxie Jones Arterburn, 85, Glasgow, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Myrtie Crabtree Jones. She was the former owner of Tots & Teens Shop in Glasgow and was a retired bookkeeper for The Print Shop. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ferrell Arterburn; one son, Dannie Arterburn and his wife, Alice, of Hermitage, TN; one granddaughter, Chrissie Arterburn Russell and her husband, Dennis, of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Ruby Smith of Bowling Green and Alma Jones of Glasgow; two brothers, Brent Jones of Glendale and Thomas Jones of Temple Hill; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Jones, and one sister, Gladys Jones Pace.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Glasgow Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
