Marvin Ray Meek, 74, Glasgow, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2007. Mr. Meek was born in Glasgow on April 15, 1932. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from National Distillery and was currently employed at American General Life Insurance.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicky Lynn Owens and Tammy Lou Spears both of Glasgow; two granddaughters, Mariah and Madison Owens; one grandson, Zackery Spears; one sister, Attie Morgan; one brother, John Paul Meek; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Ray Meek; his parents, Bishop and Bracie Meek; 3 brothers, Powell, Brent and Roy Meek; 3 sisters, Thelma Nelstead, Ruth Humphrey and Edna Martin.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the New Salem Methodist Church with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
