Bessie DeWeese Sims, 93, Glasgow, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at her residence. A daughter of the late Carl and Mae Polson DeWeese, she was a homemaker, a member of the First Christian Church and a friend of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one sister, Billie Seaver and husband, Dalson, of Crossville, TN; one brother-in-law, Bill Bernard of Ohio; several nieces and nephews, including Theresa Nelson and her husband, Jim, of Glasgow; several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O. B. “Red” Sims; one brother, J. D. DeWeese; four sisters, Lula Mae DeWeese Bernard, Roberta DeWeese Garmon, Alvine DeWeese and Maxie Lee DeWeese.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2007, at the First Christian Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Christian Church or the First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
