Ewing Palmore “Double Eagle” Rogers, 75, of Glasgow, died Monday, January 07, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Merritt Ivan Rogers and Nellie Mae Pace Rogers. He was a Corporal in the United States army where he served as a medic during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Rogers; one son: David Wilson Rogers of Glasgow; four daughters: Connie Denise Sexton and her husband of Daryl of Hiseville, Shirley Jean Crumpton and her husband William of Cave City, Linda Gail Sturgeon and her husband Paul of Jonesville and Karen Faye Rich and her husband Steve of Munfordville; three step children: Tony Hicks and his wife Sandra of Hiseville, Gary Hicks of Glasgow and Susan King and her husband Tim of Austin; one brother: Malvin Rogers of Irving, Ky; two sisters: Mabel Livesay and Opal Riley both of Louisville; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a grandson: Donnie Wayne Alexander; two brothers: Leonard Rogers and Mitchell Rogers and one sister: Barbara Rogers Fisher.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Cecil officiating. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV providing military honors. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
