Vanetta M. Brown, 71, Oklahoma, died Thursday, September 04, 2008, in Glasgow. A native of Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of Cephus Garmon and the late Ivera Hagan Garmon. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Blane “Brownie” Brown; two daughters, Shirley Napier and husband, Jackie, and Jo Rita England and husband, Timothy, all of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Trevor Napier, Amy Stockton (Joey), Jeremy Napier (Tinisha), Jason England (Christie), and Kasey England (Lance Mizell); four great-grandchildren, Courtney Houchens, Sierra Napier, Zachary England and Paisley England; three sisters, Vangelene Sexton (Freeman), Alyne Froedge (Ancel) and Vada Sexton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Stacy Dodson and Zachary Napier; one brother-in-law, Challman Sexton.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
