Anna LaVecce Stark, 79, died Friday afternoon, May 29, 2009 at her home in Fort Myers, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 6th at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Chapel in Glasgow, KY. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00A.M. Burial will be at the Hiseville Cemetery in Hiseville, KY following the funeral on Saturday.
Mrs. Stark was born on July 9, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Ulysses James Strader and Mary Elizabeth (Pemberton) Strader who are deceased. In 1948 she married Lewis Wayne Stark of Louisville, KY who preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving Mrs. Stark are her daughter, Barbara Lavecce (Stark) Miller, Fort Myers, FL, and her son, Albert Wayne Stark, Commerce, MI. Also surviving are grandsons Bryan Goodpaster, Cincinnati, OH, and Bradley Stark, Commerce, MI, and granddaughters Suzanna Goodpaster, Louisville, KY, Lindsey Goodpaster, Bloomington, IN, Kristen Stark, Commerce, MI, and Lauren Stark, Commerce, MI.
Mrs. Stark grew up in Louisville, KY where she graduated from Valley High School. After her marriage she and her husband made their home in Louisville, KY, where they started their family, and she became a stay-at-home mom. She was actively involved in Mr. Stark’s television sales and repair business for many years. She also maintained an interest in gardening, was active in the Louisville Rose Society, and enjoyed her involvement with a local sewing club and her bridge clubs. Mrs. Stark suffered from ill health for many years, which prompted her to relocate from Louisville to Fort Myers, FL in November, 2008. Over the years she was a devoted wife and mother, and remained a strong influence in the lives of her family until the time of her death.
