Cecil Quenton Johnson

Cecil Quenton Johnson, age 89, died Tuesday, June 02, 2009, in Glasgow. He was born in Dover, TN to the late Wayman W. and Orpha Hall Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a businessman of Glasgow and was respected and loved by many families and friends. He was a Deacon, and former secretary and chairman of the board of the First Christian Church. He was a Marine Veteran of the South Pacific during WW II. He loved all sports, always played to win, and was an All-State basketball player in 1937.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucille W. Johnson; daughter Marilyn J. Gettys; son-in-law, Norbert P. Gettys; grandsons, Travis J. (Julie) Gettys, Trevor L. (Sharon) Gettys, and Rafe A. Gettys; great-grandson, Samson T. Gettys; brother-in-law, Otha Billingsley; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
