Hellen Irene Young Jones, 80 of Glasgow, Kentucky, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Born in Shelbyville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Van L. and Fannie Peak Young. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. She was also co-owner of Key Pest Control for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Don; her daughter: Zenda Jones; grandchildren: Donald Jones and his wife Sherry, Charles Jones, II and his wife Vickie, Travis Jones and his wife Angela, Jeff Satterly and his wife Anne, Vila Daniel and her husband Ken, Donna Satterly, Tammy Marsh and her husband Shawn, Mike Satterly and his wife Michelle, Melissa Perkins and her husband Tim and Hellen Sherfey and her husband Keith; great-grandchildren: Jennifer Jones, Charles Jones, III, Josh Ferguson, Megan Jones, Dakota Pennington, Mya Jones, Connor Jones, Josh Daniel, Jonathan Daniel, Beth Daniel, Tyler Burk, Elizabeth Burk, Sarah Burk, Justin Satterly, Noelle Satterly, Colton Satterly, Lucy Satterly and Harrison Satterly, Tanner Perkins, Casey Sherfey, and Evan Sherfey; two brothers: Keith Young and his wife Dorothea and Bill Young and his wife Jane; one sister: Margie Brooks; sister-in-law Shirley Young; special daughter-in-law: Betty Satterly and her husband Harrison; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son: Charles “Mickey” Jones; a granddaughter: Jennifer K. Jones, two brothers: Benny Young and Charles Young; great-grandson: Bradyn Kayde Jones.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 24th at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22nd at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
