Billy E. Calvert
February 14, 1942 ~ October 10, 2009
Billy E. Calvert, 67, Austin, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. The Barren County native was the son of the late Amos and Mattie Eaton Calvert. He was a retired employee of the Engineering Department of the Kentucky Department of Transportation and a farmer. He was a member, Sunday School teacher, and trustee of the Tracy United Methodist Church. He held a deep seeded love for his church, family, friends, and his farm and cattle.
Billy is survived by his wife, Linda; three brothers-in-law, Kelly (Judy) Veach, Marshall (Carol) Veach, and John David (Beth) Veach; special friends, Todd and Donna Gray and their children, Matthew, Jessica and Sarah; three aunts, Sally Brownfield, Nell Eaton and Josephine Eaton; several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Monday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Tracy United Methodist Church.
Linda, my sweet dear friend. My heart is saddened beyond words for you. How I pray that God will totally immerse you in comfort and HIS presence upon you as you suffer in this night season. We are praying for you and will not cease. God bless you.
Linda, I don’t know how to begin to tell you how sad I am at hearing of this tragedy. My heart aches for you. Just know that God always takes care of you. He will never leave you. He will be with you always. My prayers are with you and your family and friends.
Linda, We are so saddened to learn about Billy. He was a wonderful person. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that there are so many people that are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. I know you will find strenght from God. He will see you thru this very sad time. May God bless you and your family.
Linda…While we mourn with you the loss of Billy, we rest assured that Billy is now with our Lord and Savior. I’ve always admired and loved you both…hope you’ve known that whether it was “said” in person or not. May God wrap His loving arms around you, hold you close to Him and give you comfort is our prayer for you. We are but a phone call away if and when you need us.

ALSO THEY WANT US TO KEEP THEM FOR THE FUNERAL. SO WE’LL KEEP YOU IN OUR PRAYERS AND PRAY THAT THE LORD STRENGHENS YOU AS YOU GO THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE ORDEAL. Our love is with you. We may not see you often, but we have always felt close to both of you. We will be a phone call away when you need to talk with someone. Please don’t hesitate to ask when you need help or just company. Our family is going through a lot right now. I wonder when it is going to stop. We lost our grandchild in July. Jane has had a bad time for the last month. She was in ICU for 3 weeks with infection and complications from surgery. She is in rehab now. William Earl had a mild stroke while Jane was in ICU. Now this with Billy. Larry and I will be there for the funeral Tuesday. We love you.

Mom told me about Billy. I went to high school with him but he was ahead of me by a year or two. He was always a nice person and I just wanted to extend my condolences to the family.
Linda, Gary and I are so sorry I know you feel numb from all this Billy was such a good person and everyone that knew him respected him Gary and Murlene
Linda, Don and I are so sorry to hear about Billy. Don couldn’t believe it, he had just talked to him at the car show, just before they left to go home. He was telling about his car. You are in our prayers.
Dear Linda, I just happened upon this tragic news and wanted to express my deepest sympathy for you. You and Billy are such wonderful people. You are so very considerate, caring, and kind. I am just so sorry to hear about your loss. After Tim and I would leave from your house we would often comment on what a wonderful couple you were and express our hopes of being so happily married and committed after so many decades together, just like you.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and want to share with you my favorite scripture. I hope it brings you some comfort.
