This was a couple who was deeply in love with each other, who walked like they talked, and were the best friends a person could ask for. They were some of the first friends I made when I moved to Kentucky, and because of them I can now call countless people friends. From the beginning, both John and Jewell opened their home to Dale and I and made us part of the family…sitting around the kitchen table eating Jewell’s strawberry cheesecake. When John learned Dale was ill, he came to see us immediately, although I’m sure he had a million other things to do that day (and all the other days that followed), and they were there for me when Dale went to be with the Lord. I got to spend several hours of John’s last Tuesday with him, talking about Jesus, him bragging on Steve, Taylor, and John Perry, swapping critters, visiting friends, and just hanging out. I’m sure I’ll remember that last time I saw him for years to come. The World will be a lot emptier without them in it, but we can take comfort in knowing that those who live in the Lord never see someone for the last time. My deepest condolences go out to their family and loved ones.

There’s a hole in my heart where you used to be, Papa John!

We are so sorry for the loss of your parents. John taught our oldest son Spencer many things about raising goats and chickens. Our kids loved going to their house to pick out more chickens and play with the goats. Great memories for our families, we will always cherish them. Your families are in our thoughts and prayers.
