Rondel E. Poynter
July 15, 1939 ~ December 24, 2010
Rondel E. Poynter, 71, Glasgow, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Born in Dearborn, MI on July 15, 1939, he was a son of the late Elmer and Cornelia Williams Poynter.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Coppage Poynter; one daughter, Julie Tigner (Chuck); three sons, Choppy Poynter (Joni), Chris Poynter (Lori) and John Poynter (April); along with 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Phil Poynter, and one sister, Sandra Spillman.
Rondel served with the United States Marine Corps, was a former manager of First Federal Savings & Loan in Glasgow, a former employee of Williams Construction, was a retired salesman for StarGazer Satellite Systems in Bowling Green, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved gardening, jazz, and the Louisville Cardinals. His family gives heartfelt thanks to Lisa Wilson of Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Southern Kentucky Hospice Center or to Josh’s Friends.

I consider Rondel one of my best friends in high school. Rondel made school so much more fun.I will miss him along with everyone that knew him. Glad I was fortunate enough to know Rondel.

It is with great sadness learning of the passing of Rondel. It was a great honor to have known him and considered him a life-long friend. I have very fond memories of him down through the years.
