Gladys T. Garrett

Gladys Thomas Garrett, 89, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the NHC Health Care Facility. She was the daughter of the late Joe M. and Gracie Harvey Thomas. She was a member of the Dover Baptist Church, where she served 42 years as Secretary and Treasurer for the Sunday school. She was retired from Watson Department Store.
She is survived by one son: Tommy Garrett and his wife Carolyn; one daughter: Helen Land and her husband Clayton; one daughter-in-law: Wanda Garrett; five grandchildren: Barry Garrett and his wife Vivian, Melissa Lane Pursley and her husband Gary, Rochelle Garrett Wyatt and her husband Mark, Greg Lane and his wife Michelle and Julie Garrett Shaw and her husband Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren: Seth, Colby, Holly, Hunter, Heather, Mattea, Hannah, Ian and Nicholas; three step-grandchildren: Desiree, Matthew and Zach; one sister: Margaret Jewell; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Wilmer S. Garrett and one son S. Delane Garrett.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dover Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of Tommy Garrett 2492 Dover Church Road, Glasgow, KY 42141.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was one sweet lady.

What a wonderful life she had and nearly made it to 90 years. My thoughts and prayers are with you al and hope the weather is warmer for you all Sunday. Strenght and wonderful memories will be your help in says a head.
We are remembering all of you – she was such a sweet and pretty lady.
So sorry for your loss, but we know it is heavens gain. May all of you feel God’s nearest in the days and weeks ahead. She was one fine lady and will always remember the friendship she and Mom had. They were a lot of company to each other on the phone when they both well.

Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. I remember visiting her home when I had Helen in home economics. All of your family are so special to our family. I am sorry for your loss and all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My Grandmother, Alice Harvey Helton and your Grandmother Gracie Harvey Thomas were sisters. Seeing your Mom’s picture in the paper was so familiar. I am sorry for your loss.
