Lelia Alexander

Lelia Virginia Alexander, 76, Glasgow, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Georgie Leonard and Mollie Bell Gatewood Nuckols. She was a retired nurses aide and cook and the Glasgow State Nursing Facility and later a housekeeper at SCRTC.
Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Vasquez Phares (Ronald Phares) of Killeen, TX, Sherry Lynn Rice of Glasgsow, Joyce Mondy “Joise” (Larry Mondy) of Harker Heights, TX, and Charlotte Alexander of Glasgow; six sons, Bobby Ray Alexander (Drucilla), James Edward “Cookie” Alexander (Vela) all of Glasgow, Ronnie Lee Alexander (Bertha) of Cave City, George Ernest “G.E.” Alexander of Glasgow, Thomas Eugune Alexander of Cincinnati, OH, and Charlie Alexander of Temple Hill, KY; seven sisters, Doretta Mae Wilson, Cherry Thomas Gore, Mamie Elizibeth Nuckols, Linda S. Hall, Janice Evlon Johnson, Patrisha Aline Nuckols and Hannah Bell Johnson; four brothers, Lenord Lee Nuckols, Barry Odell Nuckols, Charles Edward Nuckols and Paul Huston NUckols; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Wayne Alexander.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
