A poem for the family
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
and whispered “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched
you suffer, and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best!
Brother George was the best!

The last of the original Gospel Troubadours has gone home, and oh what a time they are all having in Heaven. I’ll bet David just laid down his harp and set down to listen to the beautiful music and harmony. I can just see tham now Oscar Norris went first, then the Lord called Lee Norris, the Lord heard daddy (Troy Basil) singing and playing his guitar he decided to call him on home too.Yesterday afternoon, the Lord decided it was time for the Troubadours to sing together again so he call George Abney on home too. Oh what a time in heaven , Oh How Beautiful Heaven Must Be………..
God Bless you all,
Kenny & Ellen Harper

Brother George will be deeply missed. I remember great childhood memories with him involved. My family always called me JACY but Brother. George never said JACY, he called me Jason. He was an extremely great man. I know that God brought his child home and he is in GLORY LAND!
