James H. Tolle

James H. Tolle, 83, Glasgow, died Friday, September 09, 2011, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Pearl Brown Tolle. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker at SKF Industries, and was an avid supporter and a Past President of the Glasgow Scottie Band Parents. He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was a long time member of the Coombs-Dickinson Bible Class, a Deacon, and chair of the property committee for many years. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Jo-Ann Tolle; one daughter, Cindy Greer and her husband, Bobby, of Glasgow; one son, Steve LaForge and his wife, Deb, of Franklin, TN; five grandchildren, Leslie LaForge of Hermitage, TN, Sarah Greer of Glasgow, Shelby Tooley and husband, Dustin, of Tompkinsville, Jeremy Pratt of Nashville, and Rachel Stephens of Tuscaloosa, AL; one brother, Billy Joe Tolle of Witchita, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Tolle and one sister, Luverne Carder.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Christian Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Tolle. I always enjoyed our many conversations we had about history when he visited during events at Hall Place. He was a very dear man and I know he will be missed very much. Love and prayers to his family and friends.
