Richard Paul Byrd
February 16, 1955 ~ September 5, 2011
Richard Paul Byrd, 56, of Glasgow, died Monday, September 5, 2011. He is the son of Luther and Margaret Cummings Byrd. He worked several years at R. R. Donnelley & Sons and was a member of the Big Meadow Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he is survived by one brother: Philip Byrd and his wife Martha; one niece: Alisha Gail Cline; one great nephew: Jared Cline; five uncles and three aunts.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I saw Richard a few years ago and we talked just like old times. I will always remember the fun we had in school. He and I and some others had study hall together. I will say we got called down more than once by old Miss King. We had a ball. I am sure he will be greatly missed. I always thought he was a very nice young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. There are no words for such a loss. I will miss Richard so very much. He was a good man and such a great friend. I will miss how he could make us all laugh. My thoughts and prayers to the family.
Mark Twain said, “Humor is mankind’s greatest blessing.” Richard spread laughter and joy like rays of sunshine. I was blessed to have known him and thankful to have called him my friend. I am so sorry for the loss of this good man. We have all been left with a library of wonderful and joyful memories of “good times” with him. I’m sure stories will be told from rocking chairs as long as any of us are still on this earth. What more could a man ask? My thoughts and prayers are with you, may God Bless you.

Richard was a man of humor and wisdom. I always enjoyed talking to him. . I am truely going to miss him. I know I will think of Richard many times in the course of my life and with only good thoughts He was a blessing on earth. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God be with you, for I know Richard is ticking God’s funny bone now.

I enjoyed knowing Richard at RR Donnelley, he was a great person to know and was always cheerful. Everyone that knew him will miss him. Kathy
Sorry for your loss. Richard wa a great guy and always was making everyone around him smile as he always was joking.I worked with Richard for a short time but he will always be remembered by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family and God Bless.
From Hiseville school many years ago to when I left him at Donnelley’s, Richard was a great person that treated all with respect and always got it in return, my thoughts and prayers are with the parents and Phillip, may God comfort you at this time.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Richard. I remember his funny antics while working with him at Donnelley’s.
I’m so sorry to hear about Richard’s death. I have fond memories of him from school days at Hiseville. I ran into Richard at a gas station about 15 years ago when visiting family in Glasgow. We talked for a few minures, then went on about our lives. He was a good guy who seems to have become a nice man, my prayers are with the family.
