Herbert L. Leamon
November 25, 1936 ~ March 3, 2012
Herbert L. Leamon, 75, Glasgow, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Hilton Head, SC. A native of Monroe County, he was a son of the late Rev. Evans Leamon and Pauline Brown Leamon. He was a retired supervisor at Eaton Axle in Glasgow, a member and usher at Glasgow Baptist Church, a member of the Tompkinsville Masonic Lodge, a member of Kosair Shrine, a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and an avid golfer.
Survivors include one son, George Leamon and wife Jennie Lou of Frankfort; one daughter, Shari Leamon-Wallace of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Megan Leamon Cecil and husband John of Glasgow, Gabriel Landon Wallace of Glasgow and Emily Victoria Leamon of Frankfort; one sister, Mae Dean Kinslow and husband John of Glasgow.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Keys Leamon; one brother, Rondall Leamon; one sister, Alean Sewell.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to BRAWA or Kosair Charities.
We were deeply saddened to learn that Herb was called home to be with his heavenly father. Our thoughts and prayers are with George and the rest of the family. Herb will be greatly missed, May GOD bless.
