Irene Edwards

Irene Edwards, 81, Griderville, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at the University of Louisville Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. “Jack” Turner and Dessie Grider Turner, and widow of the late Kenneth Clayton Edwards, Sr.  She was a self employed farmer, a tax preparer, and a member of the Hiseville Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth C. Edwards, Jr. and his wife Jane of Griderville, and Jeff Edwards and his wife Bobbi of Summer Shade; four granddaughters: Trinity Gonzalez and husband, Jesus; Morgan Edwards and her fiancé Eric Houghtaling; Katherine Brodbeck and husband Jake; and Meghan Edwards; three great-grandchildren: Eva Claire Gonzalez, Maggie Dee Houghtaling, and Clayton Jacob Brodbeck.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    So sorry to hear of “Ma Edwards” passing. She was a beautiful person. Our kids loved going to her house at Halloween for her “special “punch.
