J. L. Grider

James Logan Grider, Sr. “J. L.”, 78, Griderville, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Ernest and Thelma Patton Grider. He was a retired truck driver, a mason, a member of Teamsters Local 705, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife Sue Nell Grider; two daughters, Leslie Harper and husband Roger of Burbank, IL, and Sheila Hodges and husband Jamie of Goodnight; one daughter-in-law, Amy Grider of Griderville; seven grandchildren: Ami Revels, Aaron Revels, Katelynn Landers, Ashley Landers, Brian Hodges, Sarah Hodges, and James Logan Grider III; five great-grandchildren: Dakota, Donovan, Nicky, Corbin, and Sophia; one brother, Kenneth “Dopey” Grider and wife Karen of Danville, IL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four children: William Grider, Pamela Grider, Mary Lee Revels, and James Logan “Jim” Grider, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
