Marguerite Jones Ryan, 98, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Edward and Eva Pearl Freeman Jones. She was a retired employee of J. J. Newberry’s, a former deputy jailer, a handsewer at Handmacher Fashions, and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Gleaner’s Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one daughter, Patt Edwards and husband, Donald, of Glasgow; 3 sons, Jerry Ryan and his wife Amelia of Glasgow, Joe Ryan and his wife Ali of The Villages, FL, and Lawrence Ryan and his wife Pam of Adairsville, GA; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; three nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jordan Ryan; one son, Glenn Ryan; 4 grandsons, Mark Ryan, Jason Ryan, Brandon Ryan, and Chad Ryan; one great-grandson, Jayden Ryan; one sister, Grant Stuart of California.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

    Oh my Amelia…those times sure are precious to me…I do remember your Mama at Newberrys and so so sweet…always a lady to be respected and loved. I just lost Daddy and I know they are at peace now and with Jesus.Hugs to you as you were a special friend at Donnelleys that I will always remember who gave me strength at times when I needed it most!
