Jewett Steenbergen
January 21, 1927 ~ January 21, 2014
Jewett Steenbergen, 87, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Ucle Dewey Steenbergen and Edna Lois Hoover Steenbergen. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ. Jewett worked at FRECC for 39 years full-time and 20 plus years part-time. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Jewett is survived by his wife: Tody Steenbergen; two sisters: Mildred Niemeier and Frances Holmes; seventeen nieces and nephews: Bobby Steenbergen, Madeline Honeycutt, Sandra Walker, Dennie Mizell, Steve Niemeier, Lois Lynn Holmes, Carole Dawn Durham, Scott Holmes, Lisa Edmunds, Larry Self, Gary Self, Jenny Robinette, Jeff Curd, Dan Curd, Ferrell Price, Phillip Price & Leslie Brockett; 43 great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Dewey Steenbergen, Jr.; one sister: Wanda Self Curd; one nephew: Michael Steenbergen; one niece: Patty Brockett Cymbala.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Nancy Richardson, 110 Ashwood Lane, Glasgow, KY 42141.
