Bobby Earl White

Bobby Earl White, 71, Glasgow, passed from this life Wednesday, September 3 at home after an extended illness.
A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late James Russell White & Pauline Dean White and the husband of Martha Carol Harper White. He was a Godly man that loved his Lord and his family.
He retired from Farmers Rural Electric after 46 years of service. White began his career in the engineering department as a radio dispatcher, draftsman, and engineering clerk. White transferred in 1974 to Power Use department and Member Services department in 1984. He was named vice president of Member Services and Public Relations, a position he held until his retirement.
He was an accomplished published writer and photographer, who served as the editor and contributor of Farmers RECC official member newsletter, Current Flashes, which appears monthly as an insert in the Kentucky Living magazine.
White successfully completed several courses of study at the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, and the University of Wisconsin. He is a graduate of the National Electric Association’s Management Internship Program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
White also served for a time as an instructor for industrial electricity (adult education classes) at the Barren County Area Technology Center. He also served as commissioner on the Glasgow-Barren County Joint City-County Planning and Zoning Commission and as chairman of the Glasgow Board of Adjustments. He is certified by the commonwealth of Kentucky as an electrical inspector for both residential and commercial installations and is a licensed master electrician and electrical contractor. White served many years on the Cooperative Committee charged with the responsibility of code revisions for the Kentucky Uniform Wiring Guide.
White also has a Kentucky real estate sales associate license and has completed courses required to sit for the broker’s exam.
White, a faithful minister of the gospel, is a licensed Baptist minister with a Master of Religious Education degree from the Great Commission Bible College and a doctorate degree in Theology from the Great Commission Theological Seminary. He is president of Great Commission Bible College/Theological Seminary, president/founder of Higher Ground Ministries, a whole-wide educational outreach ministry, and ordained elder of Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church. White has pastored several Cumberland Presbyterian churches.
In addition, White is involved with a church building project in a poverty stricken township near Wolmaransstad, South Africa. He was the first American to be granted the honor of preaching from the pulpit of the Dutch Reform Church in Ottosdal, South Africa.
In addition to his parents, White was proceeded in death by grandparents, Than and Alice Dean, sister, Barbara Johnson Nickerson, and infant sisters, Sarah Alice and Virginia Nell White.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Carol White, one son, Jimmy Earl White and wife Diane, one daughter, Sondra (Sandy) Corbin, and husband Kenneth, five grandchildren: Jonathan Corbin and wife Cybile, Brittney Corbin Smith and husband Joshua, James White, Jess White, Leah White, and great-grandson, Jackson Ray Corbin; and one brother, Otis J. White and wife Joyce.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow with visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Burial will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the South African Mission Fund in care of the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
I am sorry to hear of your loss. I always loved all of your family and having Jimmy, Sandy, Dianne and the grandchildren in school.
I regret that I am out of town and will be unable to attend services.
I am so sorry to hear about Bobby. They tell me that God only takes the best and he sure was the best. May you find peace in knowing that he is in heaven and free of any pain. I am so sorry that I can’t be there because I am out of town. My heart is with all of you.

Sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. He was a neighbor when growing in Lecta his family had joining farms. I moved from there in the 1960’s and haven’t seen him since.Bobby has accomplished a lot in his life and will be rewarded for it.
