Matthew Vaughn
March 17, 1992 ~ August 27, 2015
Matthew Gene Vaughn, age 23, Glasgow, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015. The Barren County native was a son of Danny Vaughn, Sr. and the late Lela Mae Huff Vaughn. He was a graduate of Glasgow High School, where he was class president each of his four years there, and was a member of the drum line of the Glasgow Scottie Band. He was a volunteer member of the East Barren Fire Department and was a former 911 Dispatcher at the Glasgow Police Department.
He is survived by his father: Danny Vaughn, Sr., a brother: Danny Vaughn, Jr., a sister: Julie Mae Vaughn; two nieces: Hannah Danielle Mosher and Autumn Danyelle Vaughn; a nephew: Joshua Thomas Mosher; along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends. Matthew was preceeded in death by his mother, Lela Mae Vaughn.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. I worked with him at Radio shack. There was never a dull moment when Matt was on duty. He was always making people laugh. He was a great friend and will be truly missed. My prayers are with your entire family and Jordan. May you all have peace through this time.

Dear Danny and family, I am so sorry to hear of Matthew’s passing. I know this must be the hardest thing to accept. He was a fellow student of my daughter’s all through school from Kindergarten on through Senior year of high school. May God cradle each of you and bring you peace from this. I know it’s going to be extremely hard to get through, but I pray God’s sweet grace will carry all of you. You each will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It was an honor and such a blessing to know Matt for well over 10 years…I’d say since I was 4 and now I’m 17. Such a funny, nice guy. RIP Matt.
We were very saddened to hear the news about Matthew. Sometimes there just are no consoling words to use.
Just know your Family is in our thoughts and prayers. May the grace of God somehow, someway, comfort you all.
Matthew was a true friend to my son, Jacob. when we were neighbors, they got into all sorts of shenanigans! He was always so funny, and he always dis right by people. I’m so sorry to the family that you have lost his precious presence in your lives. I couldn’t believe it was try when I heard the news. I just saw him at minit mart a couple of weeks ago, and we were laughing and talking about old times.i imagine Matthew missing his family, but being happy in Heaven, seeing Lela again. may God’s grace ease your pain until you are with Matthew again.

I was so sorry to hear of Matt’s death. I had him for English at GHS for 3 of his 4 years. What a delight he was in the classroom. Always happy, helpful and excited about learning. I know he will be missed in the community, because if you knew him, you realize what a presence he had.
